Grace Country Retreat is situated in the quaint farming village Memel, nestled at the foothills of the Maluti Mountains in the North Eastern Free State. Based on the perimeter of the town with farmland across the road, we are within a comfortable walking distance to the town centre. Seekoeivlei Nature Reserve one of the few RAMSAR accredited Wetland Reserves in South Africa is a short drive from the town and offers stunning nature scenes, Hippos, Water Buffalo, and various antelope species plus beautiful bird-hides for local and international birders. We are registered as a Bird-Friendly establishment by Birdlife SA, as Memel is renowned for its prolific Bird Life specific to the wetlands and Free State grasslands. Besides welcoming off-road and tar-road motor bike enthusiasts, Memel also offers four well-marked Mountain Bike Trails of varying difficulty gradings. |
